The IMR Library is located in the Institute of Mining Research Department at the University of Zimbabwe main campus.

Information Digital Skills Training
Having difficulties accessing library print and online resources? The IMR Library staff will impart Information Digital Skills (IDS) to library users to enable them to become independent lifelong learners. Users will be in a position to effectively select, search, and evaluate information sources. IDS training is a continuous process, and the duration and levels of training vary depending on the extent of need of different groups.
Reference Services
The use of appropriate referencing and citation techniques is encouraged for students, researchers, and staff so that they can achieve academic integrity by adhering to standards of academic writing and avoiding plagiarism. There are many referencing and citation styles. The Library provides training on the preferred style. For individual or group sessions on using the citation style, book an appointment with the Subject Information Specialist.
Online Reference Management training
There are various software packages that one can use to help compile and manage references into a personal database or library, for example, Zotero and Mendeley. These software packages allow you to import your references directly into your own database from many online sources such as electronic journals, electronic books, websites, and library catalogues. They also allow you to work with a word processing package to insert in-text citations, your footnotes, and bibliography/ references into a document and then automatically format to your preferred style, collaborating with other researchers online, finding relevant papers based on what one is reading, and discovering the latest research For a training session, you can book an appointment with the Subject Information Specialist.
